It’s almost that time of the year again! The University of Findlay will be hosting its annual Spring Horse Sale on Saturday, May 1, at the University’s Western Farm in the Dale Wilkinson Arena, 14700 Ohio 68, south of Findlay. Demonstrations will begin at 10 a.m., and the sale will start at noon.

To ensure the health and safety of all involved, the University will be offering a limited number of seats for in-person guests. Tickets for in-person guests will be sold on a first come, first served basis at a cost of $50. Cost of the ticket will be deducted from the purchase price of the buyer’s first horse.

This year’s sale will be unique as it will simultaneously be offered through an online auction where buyers can bid in real-time. All demonstrations will also be broadcast live for those bidding online.

Organized by the University’s equine marketing class, the annual Spring Horse Sale features approximately 40 horses, including western pleasure and all-around prospects, as well as reining, hunter under saddle, western riding, trail, ranch riding, and quiet lesson or 4-H horses. Some of the horses that will be presented in this year’s sale are sired by high-caliber horses such as Battman, Kissin the Girls, RL Best of Sudden, Einsteins Revolution, The Kids Gotta Gun, and Starlights Boomernic.

Throughout the school year, the equestrian students spend countless hours at the University’s facilities training and caring for the many horses included in the sale. Sale proceeds will go towards scholarships and the purchase of new prospects for students to work with during the coming year.

A special addition to the sale this year is Legend Revolution, “Legend,” who is proven in UF’s Senior Reining Program and a student favorite. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Legend will go directly to the Alexandria “Ali” Gokey Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund.
