The School Resource Officer from the Union County Sheriff’s Office visited each of the second grade classrooms at North Union Elementary this week.

Deputy Shawn Dyer discussed the importance of ALICE, which stands for Alert – Lockdown – Inform – Counter – Evacuate.

Each student was given instructions on what to do if someone dangerous came into their buildings.

The students practiced what they were taught and then given an opportunity to complete a coloring contest with the ALICE theme.

A student from each 2nd grade classroom was recognized by the school and given a prize for their work.

ALICE is taught throughout the grade levels at North Union Schools.
