University of Findlay Hosting U.S. Naturalization Ceremony

The University of Findlay will be hosting one of its largest naturalization ceremonies to date on Thursday, April 25. Approximately 80 individuals are planning to become United States citizens at the public event, which will take place at 12:30 p.m. in Winebrenner Building’s TLB Auditorium.

The event will be livestreamed on UFTV’s link.

The Honorable Judge Jeffrey J. Helmick of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, will preside over the ceremony and give the oath of citizenship.

Tina Damoah, a clerk for the U.S. District Court, jury and naturalization, will present certificates. Also participating will be Bradley Leffle from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; Darin Fields, Ph.D., University of Findlay vice president for Academic Affairs and faculty dean; and UF Student Government Association president Alan Dale Kittle.

Findlay High School Senior Sylvia Bright will detail the benefits of citizenship; and Liberty-Benton Senior Abbey Reynolds, Arcadia High School Senior Elizabeth “Lizzie” Keefe, and McComb High School senior Justin Rode will be speaking about the obligations of citizenship.

Sons of the American Revolution will be presenting and retiring the colors.

Music will be provided by the Riverdale High School A Capella Choir, conducted by Sophia Fleshman, and the Cory-Rawson High School Band.
