USV Tops Kenton in Varsity Softball Action Wednesday

The Kenton High School Varsity Softball team was defeated by Upper Scioto Valley High School 15-9 on Wddnesday.

Kenton Wildcats and Upper Scioto Valley passed the lead back-and-forth on Wednesday, but eventually Upper Scioto Valley prevailed 15-9. The game was tied at nine with Upper Scioto Valley batting in the bottom of the sixth when Brielle Cotterman tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Kenton Wildcats collected 11 hits and Upper Scioto Valley had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

Kenton Wildcats opened up scoring in the first inning, when Liberty Lowe singled on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs.

Kenton Wildcats put up three runs in the fourth inning. Emily Pees and Lacie Nichols all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Emma Hunsicker was the winning pitcher for Upper Scioto Valley. Hunsicker lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out four.

Jill Burd took the loss for Kenton Wildcats . The righthander went five innings, allowing 11 runs on eight hits and striking out ten.

Kenton Wildcats tallied 11 hits in the game. Pees and Lowe all managed multiple hits for Kenton Wildcats . Lowe and Pees each collected two hits to lead Kenton Wildcats .

Upper Scioto Valley saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Graesan Evans, Cotterman, and Hunsicker all managed multiple hits for Upper Scioto Valley. Evans led Upper Scioto Valley with three hits in three at bats.
