Weekend Winter Storm Leads to Travel Disruptions Across Hardin County

A blast of winter hit the area over the weekend.

Icy conditions started early Saturday morning before changing to rain as the day progressed.

It was all snow by Sunday morning with a total of around four inches on the ground.

Windy conditions lasted all day and into the overnight causing blowing and drifting and whiteout conditions.

Hardin and surrounding counties have been between level 1 and level 2 snow emergencies since Sunday morning.

As of 10:30am this morning, 2/17/2025, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office placed Hardin County back under a LEVEL ONE Snow Emergency.

They stated that roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy and motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.

There were numerous reports of disabled vehicles and property damage only accidents reported around the county throughout the day on Sunday.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office also received two injury accident reports.

One occurred on State Route 67 at Township Road 55, and the other was in the 2000 block of State Route 53.

No other information has been released on those accidents at this time.
