Kenton’s defense was too much for Shawnee as the Wildcats blanked the Indians 28-0 in Western Buckeye League play Friday at Robinson Field.
The Indians (3-5 overall, 2-5 WBL) were held to 107 yards of offense. Kenton’s defense forced five three-and-outs, held the Indians to 2-of-11 on third-down tries and caused three turnovers.
Blaine Huston threw for 399 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score to lead the Wildcat attack.
Jayden Cornell caught 12 passes for 126 yards while Landon Rush added eight catches for 91 yards and a TD. Jacob Eversole snagged 12 balls for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Noah Eikenbary accounted for the other Kenton touchdown via a 1-yard rush.
Huston and Cameron Pulfer were named the Ace Hardware Players of the Game.
The Wildcats are now 6-2 overall and 6-1 in the WBL. Next up for Kenton on Friday will be a showdown with league-leading Ottawa-Glandorf, who is 7-1 overall and 7-0 in the WBL.
