The Kenton Wildcats posted a big Western Buckeye League victory on Friday, defeating the Wapakoneta Redskins 15-10 at Robinson Field.
The Wildcats improve to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the WBL while the Redskins fall to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.
Jacob Eversole’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:41 to play was the difference for the Wildcats, who also got a 31-yard scoring pass from Jaron Sharp and a 22-yard Bryce Ellis field goal.
The Kenton defense did the rest, holding down the high-powered Redskins while forcing a pair of turnovers.
Trent Lawrence was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.
The Wildcats travel to Skip Baughman Stadium to meet St. Mary’s in a battle of the WBL co-leaders. WKTN will have all the action live, with the pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
