Winter Storm Warning Remains in Effect; Trash Service and Parking in Kenton Impacted

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect today through Friday morning.

Heavy mixed precipitation will change to all snow tonight and continue through Thursday.The snow will be heavy at times with a total accumulation of 7 to 12 inches possible.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. 

Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. 

Wind chills will likely fall to near or below zero Friday through Saturday morning.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

In Kenton, Republic Services informed Mayor Lynn Webb that service on Thursday in Kenton has been canceled.

The city will provide updates as they are received from Republic.

Also in Kenton, in preparation for the winter storm, residents are being asked to park on the ODD side of the street beginning midnight, February 3.
