Wyandot County Sheriff Warns Residents About a Scam

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office has recently received information about a scam where citizens are being called by someone claiming to be with the Wyandot County Investigative Unit. 

The caller is providing a contact phone number for an attorney with Ohio Legal Aide and encouraging citizens to make contact to avoid legal action on their case file. 

The caller appears to have enough information to cause concern for the recipient of the call. 

This however is a scam. 

The Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens to safeguard their personal information in this age of online shopping, and phishing emails. 

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office will not contact you and defer you to an attorney by name and phone number in order for you to avoid legal action.
