Ivan Leroy Dick 79

of Kenton

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ivan Leroy Dick will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, followed by a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M.

Ivan passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 22, 1942 in Kenton, Ohio to Dorothy K. Resch and Stephen E. Dick. He married Vickie L. “Sis” Morrissey on November 8, 1988 and she preceded him in death after 28 years of marriage. 

Surviving family members are his brother; Charles Dick (Rita) of Dola, sister-in-laws; Janice Dick and Chris Dick of Lima, brother-in-law; George Heise of Lima, daughter-in-law; Kathy Dick of Belle Center, daughters; Susie Ledley (Tom) of Ridgeway, and Teresa Anderson (John) of Bellefontaine, son; Phil Dick (Amanda) of Republic, and daughter; Amanda Hixon (Kevin) of Sarver, PA. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren; Corey Ledley (Kaitlyn), Kirk Ramsey (Tara), Kyle McCloud (Courtney), Olivia Simpson (Nick), Taylor Anderson (Brittany), Alyssa Brown (Jimmy), Shayla Dick (Kory), Rylie Dick, Sean Dick, Danni Dick, Julia and Owen Hixon, Tyler and Aubrey Dick. Ivan was abundantly blessed with six great-grandchildren; Kane and Kooper Ramsey, Kayleigh Brown, Jaydon Simpson, Brantley Brown, and Amelia Anderson which brought him abundant happiness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Carl, Neil, Eugene, David, Rose (Rose), Caroline (Heise), as well as his son; Paul and wife; Vickie.

Ivan graduated from Kenton High School, class of 1962.

He retired from Rockwell International after working there most of his life. Ivan was extremely handy and enjoyed remodeling and working on his home.

Ivan was a man of faith that loved Jesus and loved helping others. He had fond memories of serving as an altar boy and receiving communion at the Immaculate Conception Church in Kenton. He had many obstacles in life and chose to persevere with his ongoing faith to achieve his goals. He loved his family and worked hard for them.

Memorial donations in Ivan’s honor may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton.
