Macee Heckathorn collected 3 hits as the wildcats lost 10-8 against Defiance. She doubled in the first inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, and singled in the 5th. Defiance rallied despite trailing 5-0 in the first. Brayla Butler singled scoring 1 run, Heckthorn doubled scoring 2, and an error scored 2 runs to make the 5.
Defiance Bulldogs flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring 7 runs on 3 hits, to take a 7-5 lead. Kenton Wildcats tied the game in the top of the 2nd thanks to a double by Riley Totten. Heckathorn’s single gave the Wildcats the lead in the top of the fifth.
Taighen Zipfel for the bulldogs tied the game at 8 in the bottom of the fifth. Vida Casarez then tripled scoring 1 and Brooke Gathman doubled to take the lead at 10-8.
Totten collected 2 hits for the Wildcats for 3 at bats. Emily Pees and Brynn Butler each had 1 hit on the day. The Wildcats turned one double play in the game. Overall it was a hard fought battle of the bats and the Bulldogs landed on top.
