The Kenton Varsity Wildcats defeated Shawnee 4-2 on Wednesday.
In the top of the 1st Brynn Butler singled to get on base and an error on a far out fly ball by Macee Heckathorn scored the 1st run of the night.
Shawnee scored 2 in the bottom of the 3rd. In the top of the 5th Kenton tied things up after a clutch single by freshman Alexis Ratliff who scored off a single by Macee Heckathorn.
In the top of the 7th the Wildcats took the lead when senior Emily Pees drove a double off the fence. A fake bunt allowed Emily to get to third and then a passed ball allowed her to score. Riley Totten singled on an error, she then stole second and scored off Brynn Butler’s single up the middle.
The girls held Shawnee to 0 runs in the bottom of the 7th for the win. This also secured the Wildcats at least a share of the WBL title. The Wildcats take on Riverdale on Friday.
