The goal of the season was for the Wildcats to be playing their best ball at the end of the season and that’s exactly what happened at Shelby Monday night. Kenton and Clearfork battled through 80 minutes and two 15 minute overtime periods and were stalemated 0-0. The game went to penalty kick shoot out and after the first 5 shooters were still tied 4-4. It took 4 sudden death PK’s and the Cats fell 7-6 during the shootout. Kenton was outshot in the contest 9-7 with both teams having chances in a very entertaining game. Both goalkeepers came up big time and time again and Hayden Holland gets the man of the match award for his saves during the game and 2 PK saves in the shootout! It was the final game for Cam Jesionowski, Austin Chen, Luis Gonzales, Hadis Jumakhonov, Jesse Harrison, Kai Reed, Karson Davis, Finn Evans and Jeremias Campos. With the return of Micah Bowman to full time duty the Cats put out their best performance of the season. The tournament requires shut outs with survive and move on games and what a performance the GK and defense put in tonight with all 5 of them logging 110 minutes. So many quality performances today that gave Kenton a chance to keep the season moving on. Kenton grazed the post 3 times in the contest and left it all on the field.
