Kenton Boys soccer team traveled to Wapak on Tuesday night in a matchup of teams with 3-2 records in the league. Kenton left Wapak with a hard fought 2-1 victory to improve to 7-3-2 (4-2 WBL). Ethan Yoder scored 13 minutes into the contest when he drove into the box and scored on a nice shot. With about 2 minutes left in the half Marlon Lopez squared a ball to Micah Bowman who floated a shot into the upper 90 to double the lead. Less than a minute into the 2nd half Wapak was gifted a PK that MJ Coulson made an awesome save on but the rebound was put into the net to make it 2-1. Kenton held on for the win from that point with some gritty play! Both teams had 6 shots in the contest and 5 corners each. Coulson made 5 saves in goal for the Cats.
The JV cats fell 1-0 when the Redskins scored with under 30 seconds left for the victory. Hayden Holland had 2 saves in goal for the Cats.
Both teams are back in action on Thursday when they host Bowling Green. Jv will play at 5pm followed by the varsity.
