A strong Colonel Crawford team raced past the Kenton Wildcats 60-44 in boys basketball play Saturday.
After a nip-and-tuck first period, the Eagles (2-0) outscored Kenton 22-12 in the second quarter to take control of the game. Despite several spurts from the Wildcats in the second half, the Eagles were able to maintain a manageable lead throughout the final two quarters and post the victory.
Colonel Crawford got a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds from Gavin Feichtner while Jordan Fenner added 14 points and Chase Walker scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Jacob Eversole paced Kenton (0-1) with 14 points, with Jayden Cornell added nine markers.
Eversole was named the Ace Hardware Player of the Game.
