Hardin Northern’s Wes Newton set a new school record at 14 feet six inches in the pole vault event Thursday.

That placed him first in the District.

The old record of 14 feet was set in 1995 by Kris Baier.

The records kept on coming for Hardin Northern as the boys 4×200 team of Carter Curtis, Wes Newton, Zeb Wilson and Riley Newton set a new school record of 1:31.77 during District prelims.

The old record of 133.8 was set in 2006 by Chris Motter, Travis Bolen, Cory Brunow and Nathan Bame.
