Joel F. Headington, 79, of Kenton, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Marion  on March 29, 1941 to the late Ross and Vera (Carey) Headington.  He married Ellen Boyle on May 10, 1968 and she survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Troy (Tonya) Headington of Forest and Toby Headington of Lebanon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tre’, Tylyn, Taryn, Braden and Carson Headington and a great-granddaughter, Rylee Conover.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Cary Headington.  Joel graduated from Mt. Victory High School in

1959 and went on to serve in the US Air Force from 1960-63.  He worked as an Electrical Technician for Rockwell for 31 years, after retirement he returned to Rockwell as the maintenance supervisor.  He also taught at Ohio High Point for 11 years.  Joel was a member of the Kenton Moose, Elks and Eagles.  He enjoyed woodworking and  photography and was on the “chain gang”

for Kenton football for many years.  Joel was a handyman who helped many with odd jobs including the YMCA, friends and neighbors.  One of his greatest joys was watching his grandkids in their sporting events.

Following his wishes, all services will be private.  Burial will be held at Grove Cemetery where the AMVETS Post 1994 will present full military rites.
