Kenton 8th grade boys fall to Wapakoneta

The Kenton 8th grade boys basketball team fell to Wapak to open the season 35-30. It was not due to lack of effort. The boys played hard and made some huge progress from last year as the same team beat them by 15 a year ago. 

The Wilcats were led in scoring by Xavier Gammon with 12, followed by Tanner Butcher with 6 and Isaac Gordon and Parker Osborn with 4 each. Butcher added 5 rebounds and Gammom and Kayne Bushong both had 3. Bushong had 4 assists and Gordon added 3. Layton Hijma, Gordon and Zaidyn Wyomic all forced 2 turnovers each. 

The Wildcats return to action at home Thursday to take on Lima Shawnee.
