The Kenton girls tennis team lost to Bath 4-1 Thursday night in their second WBL match.

Winning the only match for the night was Kenton’s Grace Collins who bested Bath’s Lexi White 6-2,6-0 at third singles.

“I am very proud of how Grace has played this week,” said Coach Katie Isenbarger. “Grace has stepped up and really picked up the singles game in a few matches. She has been consistent and getting balls back, and she continued this tonight. Getting her first WBL win is a huge accomplishment and we are excited to see how she continues to play.”

Kenton’s first singles of Mykaela Schriber fell to Bath’s Esther Bolon 6-2,6-1. Second singles Lily Osborn of Kenton was topped by Bath’s Ruby Bolon 6-1,6-0.

Kenton’s first doubles Kayce Sherman and Aaliyah Rogers lost 6-2, 7-6(2) to Bath’s Fayme Ghandi and Elena Oliver.

Second doubles Samantha Lowe and Abbey Anglemyer of Kenton lost to Rachel Wilcox and Chloe Rieman of Bath.

“I am proud of how our girls played tonight. Almost every court had many, many games that went to deuce. We are learning how to close the game out when we are up in points. This team has learned many things so far, and I know they will continue to learn as they play more this season,” said Isenbarger.

Kenton hosts Celina on Monday.
