The Kenton Wildcats battled to a 2-1 loss in WBL action against the visiting Bath Wildcats. Kenton Senior Kinze Sprang nearly scored at the 20:31 mark in the first half when she took a shot from 30 yards out but the Bath Keeper was able to make a finger tip save. Bath was then able to get on the board at the 13:28 mark when they hit a long shot of their own into the top left corner of the goal.

Going into the second half the Wildcats stood strong until Bath connected again at the 33:11 mark in the second half as they bounced a shot off of the left post that went into the goal giving them the 2-0 lead.

Kenton turned up the offensive pressure on Bath following the second goal and scored a goal of their own when Sprang passed a ball to Senior Emma Houghendobler, who was trailing at the top right of the 18 yard box, where she sent a hard right footed shot to the far side of the goal to bring the score to 2-1. Kenton continued the offensive pressure up until the final whistle that stopped them from taking one final shot in an attempt to tie the game.

Senior Ruby Styer collected 9 saves in goal for the evening.

The Wildcats travel Celina on Thursday, September 12th for a 7pm start.
