After a hard fought but scoreless first half, the Kenton Wildcat Girls Soccer Team found the back of the net twice to beat Bellefontaine, 2-1.

The Wildcats nearly scored in the first 30 seconds of the first half and continued the pressure from there but were unable to find the back of the net. After a few halftime adjustments, Kenton Junior Addy Haudenschield found the back of the net off of a long range shot that skipped in past the Bellefontaine Keeper. After the home team tied the game at 1-1, Kenton Senior Kinze Sprang rifled a shot at the goal which the Bellefontaine Goalie fumbled allowing Freshman, Ellie Minter, to follow up and find the back of the net for the winning goal with under ten minutes remaining in the match.

The Goalkeeper, Senior Ruby Styer, held strong in goal for the Wildcats as she stifled several chances by the Home Team including two heroic one on one saves in the second half.

The Kenton Wildcats move to 2-0 on the season and will be back at home on Saturday, August 24th when the take on Upper Sandusky. The Kenton Varsity Boys will play at 5:30 and the Girls will play at 7:30. Any previous players or coaches for the Girls Soccer Team are invited to attend the game to celebrate the 25th season of Girls Soccer at Kenton High School. The celebration will take place in between the two games.
