Kenton Girls Varsity Softball beats Bath 6 – 2

Brynn Butler drove in four runs on two hits to lead Kenton Varsity Wildcats past Bath 6 to 2 on Tuesday.
Butler doubled in the seventh inning scoring three runs and singled in the third inning scoring one. Kenton Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the top of the third inning after Butler and Emily Pees scored after tagging up, scoring one run. The Wildkittens tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a double by Addi Gibson and single by Anne Oliver. In the top of the seventh the Wildcats broke up the tie when Butler doubled scoring three runs then a tag up by Shelby Miller followed to extend the lead to 6-2. Butler earned the win for Kenton. They gave up seven hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one. Madison Edelbrock took the loss for Bath. The starting pitcher went four innings surrendering two runs, six hits, striking out three. The Wildcats tallied in 10 hits in the game. Butler, Brailyn Thacker, Pees and Riley Totten collected two hits and one double play in the game. It was an all around great win for the girls and they are back in action tomorrow against Perry.
