Kenton Wrestling defeats Ada and Riverdale in Hardin County Tri-Meet

There were not many matches, but Kenton came out on top against both Ada and Riverdale last night.  Kenton beat Ada 44-18 and Riverdale 36-16.

 

Kenton won all but two matches on the night recording six pins and a decision. Kenton won all five matches versus Ada, but dropped two of four contested bouts agains Riverdale.

 

The night was highlighted with a bout between Seniors and long time friends, Anthony Hunt and Ada’s Clayton McClain.  Hunt was able to take McClain down four times and only give up two escapes to win the match in a 9-2 decision. Hunt accepted a forfeit against Riverdale.

 

Junior, Karson Davis, bumped up to 138 lbs in both his contests to record pins over Wyatt Fisher of Ada (1:43) and Trenton Coppler of Riverdale (3:31).

 

Matthew Handell pinned Landon Simon of Ada in under a minute (:52) and took a forfeit from Riverdale.

 

Harrison Brein also accepted a forfeit from Ada and then pinned Noah Locke of Riverdale in the second period (3:31).

 

Freshman, Isaac Blevins suffered a tough loss against Kydin Reed of Riverdale (12-4), but bounced back with a pin over Ada’s Layne Simon (2:31).

 

Brison Laubis went (1-1) on the night with a pin over Ada wrestler, Cobe Harris (:42), but fell to Ethan Sanders of Riverdale (:48).

 

Isaiah Poland at 175 lbs and JJ Manns at 190 lbs accepted forfeits from both teams.

 

Ada posted a 33-15 win over Riverdale in their match-up.

 

The Wildcats will be back in action next weekend, Dec. 29-30th, competing in the Marion Harding Classic tournament.
