KHS Coed Varsity Wrestling Finishes 29th Place at OSHAA Districts – Norwalk.

Noah Eikenbary places third at the OSHAA Division II District wrestling tournament. Eikenbary Kenton’s 220 lbs wrestler set his goals high for the 2018-2019 wrestling season. He wanted to win a WBL Championship, win a second sectional Championship, and place in the top four at districts and advance to and place at state. Eikenbary is well on his way to achieving his goals by winning his WBL championship over 22nd ranked Adalberto Vega a senior from Defiance in a 3-0 decision win. Going into the Clyde sectional Eikenbary was ranked 19th in Division II. He won his second straight sectional championship by beating 9th ranked Max Fausnaugh of Bowling Green in regular decision wins in 2018 and 2019.

After day one of District wrestling Eikenbary was well on his way to achieving his goal by winning his first two matches. Noah picked up a 6-5 regular decision win over Nate Hayes-Poole a sophomore from Ontario. In the second round Eikenbary took on senior Eric Adkins of Lima Bath earning a 3-1 regular decision win. Entering the second day of wrestling Eikenbary took on Alex Maloney the #4 ranked wrestler of Norwalk. Eikenbary came up short losing 13-5. Eikenbary then came back to secure his trip to the state finals with a 4-3 decision over 12th ranked Aaron Harris of Wauseon. Noah made sure there was no question that he deserved to advance with a second win of the season over Adalberto Vega. Vega lost in a regular decision 3-0 loss. Max Fausnaugh went on to claim 1st place over Alex Maloney in a 10-7 regular decision.

Ethan Manns also competed at the Norwalk District tournament. Manns placed 3rd at the Clyde Sectional. Ethan stumbled slightly in his first match with a 7-3 loss to senior Michael Bentley of Shelby. Manns came on strong to take out sophomore Jose Moralez of Keystone pushing Manns into day two of competition. Unfortunately Ethans day was cut short with a 14-0 loss to Chris Jackson a freshman from Toledo Central Catholic.
