Funeral services for Marilyn F. McClure, 80 of rural Kenton will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the First Church of God, 141 Oak St, Ridgeway, Ohio 43345.

A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton and for one hour (1:00 – 2:00 p.m.) Sunday, prior to the service at First Church of God. She passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Marilyn was born on May 22, 1938, in Lewistown, OH to the late Robert Harry Mattox and Gladys (Shoffner) Mattox.  On August 18, 1963, she married Don E. McClure and he survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are two sons, Keith (fiancée Stacey) McClure of Wilmington, OH, Scott (Denese) McClure of Kenton, two daughters, Monica (David) Schwartz of Kenton and Tonya (Jim) Whitaker of Kenton; 8 grandchildren, Jocelyn Renkert of Kenton, Kitrina (Luke) Heilman of Kenton, Thane (Amber) Schwartz of Dunkirk, Lyndsey Schwartz of Kenton, Alyssa (Tim) Cowan of Spanawa, WA, Jenna and Colten Whitaker of Kenton; a step grandson, Corey Leiter of Kenton; 5 great grandchildren, Adelynne, Tharyn, and Hudson Renkert of Kenton, and Esley and Grayson Heilman of Kenton.

Marilyn is also survived by nieces, Gayle Kelleher of Springfield, OH, Janis Krugh of DeGraff, OH; Marcia Krugh of DeGraff, OH, Robin Perry of Columbus, OH and a nephew, Bart Powell of Columbus.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister, Carolyn Kuenning and older sisters Opal Krugh and Crystal Wiles.

Marilyn graduated in 1956 in Lewistown, OH.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ohio Northern University, and later a Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University.

She was a teacher for over 30 years at Benjamin Logan Schools, with many of her years teaching Kindergarten.  Marilyn attended the First Church of God in Ridgeway.

She delighted in spending time with her gamily and service the Lord through teaching, singing, playing piano, leading Vacation Bible School, and being a member of the Gideon’s International Auxiliary.
