Marilyn Jean Decker, 75 of Kenton

Services for Marilyn Jean Decker will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at The Price – McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Rev. Steve Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Otterbein Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00PM till 7:00PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the funeral home.

 

She died unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, February 23, 2019. She was born on October 10, 1943 in Hepburn to the late Frank Gordon and Claudean Gunn. On July 24, 1963 she married Ronald Decker and he survives in Kenton.

 

Also surviving are her children; Leslie (Lori) Decker of Las Vegas, Nevada and Wendy (Robert “Bo”) Blum of Kenton. Grandchildren; Riley Decker of Lafayette, Indiana, Tiffaney (John Spearman) Heberling of Dola, Zane Blum of Kenton and Arden Blum of Kenton. Nephew; Brian (Libby) Wolgamot.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister and an older sister Nancy Wolgamot.

 

Marilyn was involved with Lambda League O.C.C.L, Homemakers Club and Hand of Faith Circle.

She attended Epworth United Methodist Church in Kenton.

 

Marilyn enjoyed socializing with her many friends in the groups she was involved in. She enjoyed taking trips. Her favorite was when she traveled to Boston. She loved eating out, especially to Red Lobster and Olive Garden and she couldn’t pass a Tim Horton’s without stopping for her favorite Iced Cappuccino.

 

She enjoyed making special handmade cards for everyone. Each card was on of a kind and she took great pride in making them. Writing poetry was another hobby she liked.

 

Gardening was another one of her favorite hobbies. She truly had a green thumb and she liked keeping her yard looking beautiful with an array of different flowers and plants. It seemed as if she could make almost any type of flowers of plants grow.

 

Her favorite color was purple and she loved her Siberian Husky, Layla very much.
