Douglas D. Sorgen, 60 of Belle Center passed away on Saturday, July 6,
2019 at St. Rita’s Hospital. He was born on November 2, 1958 in Kenton to Charles “Ted” and Ruby (Rayl) Sorgen. On May 31, 1980 Doug married Nancy Kinsey and she survives. Doug is also survived by his mother, Ruby Sorgen of Belle Center, daughter, Clarissa (Thomas) Coker of FL, sister, Jessica
(Harvey) Osborn of LaRue, three grandchildren; Ava, Elise and Tommy and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles “Ted” Sorgen and nephew, Sean Tyler. Doug served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. He played Kenton Little League and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the Kenton Moose Lodge and was also a life member of the Amvets Post 1994. Doug worked as a custodian at Kenton High School. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, living in Florida and the Cleveland Browns. Doug was a music enthusiast
and especially enjoyed listening to the Grateful Dead. He was also a
longtime member of Flat Branch Church of Christ and was currently a member of the First Christian Church. Visitation for Doug will be held from 2:00
– 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17,
2019 at First Christian Church, Kenton. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church, 340 N. Main St, Kenton, OH 43326.
