Obituary for Ellen M. Hastings

Ellen M. Hastings age 81 of Kenton, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on May 16, 2024. She was born August 27, 1942 in Wyandot County to the late Joseph Nelson and Winona (Swartz) Karcher. Ellen married the late Larry D. Hastings on September 24, 1967.

She is survived by her sons Doug (Amy) Hastings, Forest, Randy (Lucinda) Hastings, Kenton, grandchildren Clayton Hastings, West Mansfield, Shanel Hastings, Rushsylvania, Arica Hastings, Joseph Hastings, Devin Hastings, and Andrew Steele, all of Kenton, great grandchildren Dallas, Emery, Laylynn, and Collin, siblings Jane Cooley, Tiffin, Ruby Karcher, Upper Sandusky, Phyllis Chance, Upper Sandusky, Roger (Mia) Karcher, Carey, Richard Karcher, Forest, Charles (Janice) Karcher, Nevada. Ellen is preceded in death by her siblings Joyce Vogel, Joseph Nelson Karcher Jr., Lloyd Karcher, and Danny Karcher.

Ellen was a Bloomville High School graduate. She worked in the IGA Bakery, Millington Plastics, Nurses Aide at the former Wyandot Manor, Fairhaven both of Upper Sandusky, and former Corinthians, Kenton. Ellen retired in 2011. She was a member of Marseilles United Methodist Church. Ellen enjoyed sewing afghans, quilts, cooking, baking, especially cookies, doing word search puzzles and bowling.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday May 21, 2024 in Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Betsy Bowen officiating. Internment will be held at Old Mission Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2024 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellen M.
