Obituary for Gerald Duane Scott Sr.

Funeral Serivces for Gerald Duane Scott Sr. will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at The Price – McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Miguel Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Norman Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the funeral on Thursday.

He died on Monday, August 12, 2019 at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1936 in Kenton to the late Francie Sr. and Estella (Wallace) Scott. On July 2, 1993 he married Connie Garvey and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are 3 daughters; Mary Ann Scott of Kenton, Maria (Rob) Warmbrod of Kenton and Michelle (Jim) Wiley of Richwood. 3 sons; Roger (Becky) Scott of Hillard, Tyler (Amy) Scott of Forest and Richard Burroughs of Carey. 5 sisters; Norma (Paul) Newland, Martha Atkins, Beatrice (Joe) Thompson, Sharon Lowery and Judy (Mike) Smith. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Bruce Burroughs and Gerald Duane Scott Jr. 2 daughters; Vivian Scott and Nancy Scott. 7 brothers; Francie “Bob” Scott Jr, William “Bill” Scott, Joe “Toby” Scott, Darel Scott, Paul Scott, Tom Scott and Roger Scott. 1 sister; Dorothy Scott.

Gerald was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, camping and squirrel hunting as well as taking evening drives through the country side. Gerald was also a devote family man, who loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
