Helen L. Laubis, 91 of Kenton passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. She was born on January 17, 1928 in Hardin County to the late Ira and Mabel Shick. Helen married Richard Laubis on February 11, 1951 and he survives along with three children: LouAnn Laubis of Kenton, Barbara Langle of Granger, IN and Michael Laubis of Kenton. She is also survived by her brother, Robert “Bob” Shick of Mt. Ida, AR, sister, Betty Moorhead of Findlay, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Laubis was preceded in death by her brother, Charles C. Shick and two sisters, Wanda Moser and Eva Deal. Helen and her daughter, LouAnn were the owners of the Hen House in Mt. Victory and traveled to Shipshewana, IN as a vender for many years. She was also a 4-H advisor for many years of the Goshen Girls and a member of Hepburn United Methodist Church. Helen and her husband enjoyed spending winters in Florida.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.
