Herbert S. Conn Sr. age 79 of Upper Sandusky passed away surrounded by family on Friday Oct. 4, 2019 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 26, 1940 to John R. and Hazel (Toombs) Conn. He married Frances R. Taylor on January 26, 1960 and they celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Surviving is his wife Frances of Upper Sandusky, son Herb (Dee) Conn Jr. of Upper Sandusky, grandchildren Shae (Judd) Culver of Upper Sandusky, Samantha (Collin) Pneuman of Bucyrus, Heather (Brian) Smith of Upper Sandusky, seven great grandchildren Blake Culver, Ava Culver, Ellie O’Flaherty, Leah Pneuman, Sterling LaMont, Scarlet Pneuman and Grey Pneuman, sister Janet (Robert) Hill of Nevada, God child Teresa Taylor-Miller brother-in-law and childhood buddy Joe Fox. He was preceded in death by brothers John Conn, Francis Conn, Kenneth Conn, Delbert Conn, Clifford Conn, sisters Delores Rhodes, Juanita Bennett, Ruth Swartz, Evelyn Gialotti.

He was a US Army Veteran serving during peacetime. Herb was a bartender for the Moose for 36 ½ years. He was a life member of the Moose, Eagles, Amvets. A member of the American Legion and VFW. Herb received the father of the year award given by the Daily Chief Union. He enjoyed coaching the Moose softball team and pony league. Herbie spare time was spent with his grandchildren. One of his fondest times was fishing with his great grandson Blake. He had a love for animals wild or tame. He belonged to the Marado Club. Herb was funny with a kind soul and will be missed by family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday Oct. 9, 2019 at 11:00am at Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by Upper Sandusky Color Guard. Visitation will be on Tuesday October 8, 2019 from 2-4pm, 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Midget League, Hospice of Wyandot County or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
