of Kenton

Funeral Services for James “Jim” Edward Furr Jr will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2019 at The Price – McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Jason Manns officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. till 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

He died on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1957 in Kenton to the late James Edward Furr and Norma Jean Wiseman. On July 13, 1980 he married Lisa Hastings and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are 1 daughter; Paulina Watkins of Kenton. 2 sons; Darrin Furr of Kenton and Erick Furr of Kenton. 1 sister; Dianna Ziegler of Kenton. 3 brothers; Wade Furr of Kenton, Bill Furr of Kenton,  and Bill Klingler of Marion. 13 Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 1 sister; Deb Klingler, 2 brothers; Gene Klingler, Albert Furr and a grandson; Mason Furr.

Jim was a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge #428, Amvets Post #1994 where he was active in the Honor Guard and The Fraternal Order of Eagles #2163.

Jim loved to be outside. Whether it be playing with his grandkids or working on one of his various projects, Jim wanted to be out of the house. He enjoyed playing golf with his grandson, playing cornhole or horseshoes, and having cookouts. Above all his family was the most important thing to him in his life.
