of Kenton

Funeral services for James “Jim” A. Litzenberg will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Steve Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Kenton. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the funeral home.

Jim passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born on December 20, 1960, in Kenton to the late Edwin and Aleen (Leach) Litzenberg. On January 26, 1985, he married Marie Shepherd and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are a daughter, Kelly (Clay) Kohnen of Harpers Ferry, WV, 2 sisters, Pat Pringle of Kenton, Judy Dietz of North Canton, 2 grandchildren, Chrisitan and Carter Kohnen, best friends, Bob Jones, Rod Goslee, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 brother-in-laws, Joseph Dietz and Fred Pringle.

Jim graduated from Kenton HIgh School in 1979. He then went on to Lincoln Tech to get his associates degree in Auto Mechanics.

He was a member of the Kenton Moose and the Hardin County Sons of the American Revolution.

Jim was employed at Grove Cemetery in Kenton for the last 39 years, working as the sexton for many of those years. Jim was proud of the cemetery and the work he put into it.

If Jim wasn’t working, he was either playing music or listening to it. He loved the Beatles and was a talented guitar player. He played in several bands throughout the years. Jim also enjoyed going out to dinner with his wife and trying new places and foods.

Memorial donations in Jim’s honor may be made to the Grove Cemetery Tree Fund.
