John L. Harraman, 78, of Richwood and formerly of Arkansas, passed away Sunday July 21, 2019 at the home of his sister in Richwood.
He was born in Jackson Township, Union County on September 23, 1940 to the late Ray H. Harraman and Leona M. (Daniels) Harraman.
John was a graduate of the LaRue High School. He had worked as a tool and die maker for the Whirlpool Corporation in Marion for 17 years, and retired from NI Industries in Modesto, California. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War serving in the Philippines and Okinawa, Japan.
John is preceded in death by his parents: Ray H. Harraman, Leona M. (Daniels) Zachariah, a sister: Janet A. Brown and a grandson: Brian Beaumont.
John is survived by two sons; Douglas R.(Sharon) Harraman of Richwood and Steven E. Harraman of Columbus, and two sisters; Rayda M. Reese and Teresa A. (Robert “Pops” Hawke) Zachariah both of Richwood, three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Price Cemetery, where there will be Military Honors conducted by the Richwood Area Veterans.
