of St. Mary’s
Judy Von Blon, 81, of St. Mary’s passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Blanchard Place in Kenton. She was born on May 12, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Carl and Freda (Hibner) Mabrey. Judy married Steve McBride and they divorced. She then married Dr. W. Victor Von Blon and he survives in St. Mary’s.
Judy is survived by her children, Mike (Jane) McBride of Westerville, Allison (Brian) Holcomb of Kenton, Kip (Denise) McBride of Plain City, grandchildren, Nathan McBride, Mikaela (Sean) Hoban, Madelyn, Cooper, and Parker McBride, a sister, Pam (Ken) Hanes of Sarasota, FLA, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepfather, Jim Glock, sisters; Sharon Fields, Kathy Williams, Charlene Hilty and a brother, Gary Mabrey.
Judy retired from The Ohio State University, Lima Campus after working for 33 years as an Executive Administrator for the Dean of Lima OSU. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of St. Mary’s. Judy loved her family, The Ohio State Buckeyes, music and loved to travel. The family would like to thank the nurses at Hardin Hills, the staff at Otterbein and Blanchard Place.
A memorial service for Judy Von Blon will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial at Grove Cemetery in Kenton will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. The family has asked that everyone wear your Ohio State gear and attire to honor Judy and her love of all things Ohio State.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Judy’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Tranquility Hospice.
