Kathleen J. Demmitt, 79 of rural Kenton passed away at Logan Acres on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 29, 1945 to the late Ernest Michael, Jr. and Sophia Dawn (List) Menard. She first married David P. Gibson and he is deceased, she then married Donald Demmitt and he also preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, David (Deana) Gibson, Jr. of Kenton; daughter, Leisa (Joe) Jolliff of Ridgeway; two step sons, Donald (Edie) Demmitt of Troy, OH and Charles Demmitt of Rye, CO; a brother, Michael (Lynn) Menard of Huber Heights, OH; six grandchildren, Andrew (Alana) Jolliff, Aaron (Sara) Jolliff, Brandon (Kayla) Jolliff, Krystin Gibson, and Wade (Joslyn) Gibson 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy (Lisa, survives) Menard, sister, Kristin (Frank) Petry and a step-grandson, Barton Demmitt.
Kathy worked the majority of her career at the Hardin County Courthouse Clerk of Courts and the Bureau of Support. Although she grew up in “the city”, she acclimated well to the farm life, and enjoyed being Donald’s “right hand” on the farm. She was an excellent baker, her home was always open to anyone who didn’t have “a place for the holiday”.
Visitation will be held at SCHINDWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 11am-1pm where the funeral service will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
