of Kenton

Funeral services for Lauren R. Eibling Jr will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow at Dola Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Lauren passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at his residence in rural Kenton. He was born on April 27, 1944, in Kenton to the late Lauren R. Eibling Sr and Vivian A. (Minter) Eibling. On September 1, 1963, he married Janet Vandemark and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are a daughter, Deb (Jeff) Oestreich of Ada, 2 sons, Ron (Julie) Eibling of Harrod, Craig (Erika) Eibling of Kenton, a brother, Tom (Kay) of Dola, 7 grandchildren; Garrett Oestreich, Justin (Robin) Eibling, Kaity (Kurt) Thomson, Austin (Mary) Eibling, Makenna Eibling, Treysen Ebling, Alexa Eibling, 7 great-grandchildren; Olivia, Jaxtin, Declan, Fletcher, Waylon, Colt, Callie,and several nieces and nephews.

Lauren was a 1962 graduate of Hardin Northern High School. He worked as a farmer his entire life. Farming was a way of life for Lauren. He worked as a fertilizer salesman and truly loved raising cattle. 

Lauren was extremely involved with the Dola community. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dola and served as a board member for the Blanchard River Water Board, the Northern Hardin Fire Board and was a Washington Township Trustee for 40 years.

When he wasn’t farming or attending his grandchildren’s activities, Lauren enjoyed making homemade ice cream, watching Nascar, or building electric train sets.

Memorial donations in Lauren’s honor may be made to the Northern Hardin County Fire District, 201 N. Main Street, Dunkirk, OH 45836, or the Blanchard Dunkirk EMS, 110 S. Main Street, Dunkirk, OH 45836.
