Lewana Jean Butcher, 89 of Kenton died Wednesday May 22, 2024, at Vancrest of Ada. On July 19, 1934, she was born in Kenton, OH to the late Parker and Callie (Botchlett) Williams.  She married John Butcher on November 16, 1963, and he preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son, Thomas Butcher, daughter; Patricia “Patty” (Gary) Cribley, grandchildren; Amanda (Jamie) Raines, Emily (Wes) Crist, Stephanie Cribley, great-grandchildren; Eva Crist, Lily Raines, Amara Puckett, and Cooper Raines.

Lewana was a 1953 graduate of Kenton High School and a member of Ohio Knit Wits Guild.  She was also active in Hardin County Homemakers, an advisor for the Jolly Rippers 4-H club, and a member of Epworth Community Church. She worked at J’s Fashions, Kenton Times, and distributed samples of new products at Kroger.

Visitation will be on Tuesday May 28, 2024, from 1100-100 PM at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home.  A funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Steve Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.
