Obituary for Martha M. Reed
Martha M. Reed age 87 of Ada died at Vancrest of Ada on Jan. 12, 2025. She was born Oct. 5, 1937 to the late Samuel and Gladys (Coppler) Walter. She married Don F. Reed on July 28, 1957, he preceded her in death on July 20, 1998. Surviving are her daughter Catherine Scharf, Kenton, and son Kenneth Reed, Lima, grandchildren Adam & Alan Scharf, Scott & Alex Reed, great grandchildren Addelynn Scharf, Raelyn Reed, Lucas Reed & Cole Reed. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
Martha was a graduate of Wharton High School in 1956 and a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker & cleaned many homes in the Forest area. She had such a good reputation for her work that there was a waiting list for her cleaning skills. She was known for her homemade donuts and delivering them to families while they were still warm. She always put others first. Most of all, she enjoyed spending with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thurs. Jan. 16, 2025 at the Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest with Pastor Denny Livingston officiating. Interment is in Patterson Cemetery, Forest. Visitation is from 9:00AM-11:00AM before time of services on Thurs. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S.
