Obituary for Norman J Johnson

Norman J. Johnson, 82 of Belle Center passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.  He was born on November 25, 1936, to Thomas and Mildred (Orr) Johnson in Bellefontaine, Ohio.  He graduated in 1954 from Belle Center High School.  He enlisted in the Army in January of 1955 and was sent to Fort Knox, Kentucky and later Fort Belvoir, VA, where he received training for heavy equipment before being sent to Germany where he was a mechanic.

SP3 Johnson returned home in January of 1958.  In February of 1961, he married Mary Anne Fink and she preceded him in death on December 27, 2016.

Together they had five children; Norman (Tina) Johnson, Jr. of West Mansfield, Theresa (John) Krock of Kenton, Brad (Pam) Johnson of MN, Alan

(Angel) Johnson of Belle Center and Amanda Johnson of Findlay.  He is also survived by two sisters; Joy (Jim) Miller and Beverly (Bill) Blair both of Belle Center and three grandsons; Nicholas, Landon and Cameron.  Mr.

Johnson was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jaylyn. He worked at Rockwell International in Kenton where he helped establish a Credit Union in 1969 and served as its first president.  For many years, Norman owned and operated Norman Johnson Implement where he sold farm machinery.  He also farmed.  He was a member of the Williard Stout Legion Post 266 in Belle Center.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.  A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Belle Center Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Mr. Johnson to Universal Home Health and Hospice. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by
