On May 21, 2019, Robert C. Laubis, of Lakeview, Ohio, died at the age of 86. Bob, as he was known to his family and friends, was born to Carvin C.
Laubis and Ila Laubis of Kenton, Ohio on August 27, 1932. He married Nancy Hale in 1952, and they raised two daughters, Cheryl Davis and Laura Laubis Prater. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy, and his daughter Laura. He is survived by his very best friend, Joyce Snow, of Lakeview Ohio, his sister Shirley Butcher, his daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Kim, two grandchildren, Jayme Laubis and Carly Vanhoose, great-grandson Brison Laubis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was a member of the Kenton Elks #157, Kenton Moose Lodge, Kenton Amvets Post #1994 and the Indian Lake Eagles #3615.
Bob retired from Rockwell, where he was a machinist. He will be remembered for his lifelong love of music. He began playing bass guitar in country and western bands at the age of 18. He was the bass guitar player for The Country Expressions Band for over 40 years. His music took him on several adventures, including summers traveling with his friends on Loretta Lynn’s tour bus. He will be sorely missed by all who love him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Kenton. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Wasson officiating.
