Ronald Richard Cook, age 76, of Findlay Ohio died at the Blanchard Valley Hospice in Findlay Ohio on June 20, 2019. He was born on December 22, 1942 in Toledo to Bonnie Jean Emch (1921 – 2015) and Richard Arthur Cook (1921 – 1958) and he married Patricia Jo Shields on June 23, 1963. He had three children. The surviving children are Christa Jo Cook of Findlay Ohio and Ronald Shields Cook of Smithtown New York. His deceased child is Linda Diane Cook, of Findlay, who passed away in December 2018 in Findlay Ohio. He has five grandchildren. Brandon Cook and Amanda Cook live in Smithtown New York. Emily Rabinowitz, Zachary Rabinowitz and Joshua Cook-Rabinowitz live in Findlay Ohio. He has one great grandchild: Hazel Mae Rabinowitz.

His brother is Doug Cook, whom resides with his wife Kathy in Bowling Green, Ohio. His brother-in-law is William Hune Shields, whom resides with his wife Patricia in Findlay, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ronald Richard Cook’s father was Richard Arthur Cook. Richard Arthur Cook’s father was Arthur Carl Cook. Arthur Carl Cook’s father was Fred Cook who was born in Germany to Marie Christine Louise Koch. Marie brought Fred to the USA when she migrated to the USA with an unrelated family. Fred Cook’s birth name was Friedrich Heinrich Wilhelm Koch (1847 – 1931) but had changed his name to Fred Cook when he was in the USA.

Ronald Richard Cook was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Findlay. He graduated from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in the early 1960s. He met his wife at BGSU. He has worked for JC Penneys and Kohls. He worked in various states including Maryland, Connecticut, and Ohio. He sang in church choirs for many years where his wife was the choir director. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and was proud of their accomplishments. He enjoyed playing both golf and bowling with his friends. He enjoyed delivering food with Meals on Wheels in his retirement years.

A funeral service will be held Mon. June 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church 218 E. Sandusky Ave. Findlay, OH with Rev. Tom Mellott officiating. A private interment service will be held at Hueston Cemetery, Forest. The family will receive friends on Mon. June 24, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
