Virginia “Nanny” E. Turner age 85, of Forest died at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Fri. Nov. 8, 2024. She was born Oct. 16, 1939 in Forest to the late Charles and Mary (Kidd) Cramer. She married Ralph Turner in Nov. of 1961, and he preceded her death in Nov. 1997. Surviving is a son Tad (Beth) Wade, Wharton, grandchildren Corrina Lisa and Joe Wade; a daughter-in-law/prevailing caregiver Pam Wade; 7 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many other loved ones. She is preceded in death by siblings Paul Cramer, Edith Davidson and Goldie Stephan.
Although her name was Virginia, nobody called her that. She was “Nanny” to nearly everyone who knew her and Ginger to everyone else. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, her beloved pets and letting people know exactly what was on her mind. Her spitfire, can-do attitude stayed with her until the end and THAT is what she passed down through the generations. If she loved you, you knew it. If she didn’t, you knew that too and she was happy to tell you about it over a cigarette and a Pepsi. Everything about her cheeky retorts and spicy remarks will be dearly missed, but carried on by her family in her honor.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM Sat. Dec. 14, 2024 in the Patterson Cemetery with Pastor Steve Anstine officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
