Rachel M. Osbun, 90 of Kenton passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019.
She was born on June 2, 1928 in Kenton to the late Karl and Margaret.
(Carrothers) Bloom. Rachel married Richard F. Osbun on June 25, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2006. She is survived by her five children; Steven Osbun of Kenton, Michael (Larissa) Osbun of Huntsville, Kay (Tim) Brickley of Decatur, GA, Dale (Nancy Jean) Osbun of Sandusky and Nancy Jo Osbun of Kenton. She is also survived by her sister, Louise (Bloom) Norman of Clearwater, FL, four grandchildren; Brad 1(Andrea) Osbun of Cary, NC, Kelli (Cory) Conner of Lima, Danielle (Scott) Batchelder of Cincinnati, Brian (Wennie) Osbun of Pittsburgh, PA, three step-grandchildren; Jen (Eric) Neuhaus of Erlanger, KY, Aaron (Nikki) Hursh, Andrew (Jessica) Hursh both of Columbus, and ten great-grandchildren; Adelyn and Alex Osbun, Cain and Chloe Conner, Joe and Sam Neuhaus, Teagan and Brysen Hursh, Ezra and Kennedy Hursh. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Maurice Bloom, Warren Bloom, Mildred Bloom Schrupp, John Bloom, Mary Bloom Wortman, Joseph Bloom and Emma Jane Bloom. Rachel was a farm wife and homemaker.
She raised dairy and beef cattle with her husband Richard. She occasionally held jobs at Kenton Theatre as an usher, North Electric factory, the Mt. Victory Plaza as a prep cook and R.E. Allen Bag Factory. Rachel was known for her sharp wit, great cooking and desserts, especially her pies. It is fitting that she passed away on “National Pi Day.” A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Grove Cemetery.
