The Riverdale Falcons Track and Field State Qualifiers will be competing tomorrow and Friday at Welcome Stadium in Dayton. The school has a multitude of state qualifiers that will compete in various events including discus, high jump, 4x800m relays for both boys and girls, 1600m run, 3200m run, and 400m dash.
The schedule for Riverdale athletes is as follows:
THURSDAY:
Field Events begin 3:00pm (Top 8 to Podium)
4:00pm- Ladies 4×800 M Relay (Top 8 to Podium)
4:15pm- Boys 4×800 M Relay (Top 8 to Podium)
6:00pm- Girls 400 M Dash (Top 9 to Finals on Friday)
6:30pm- Girls 300 M Hurdles (Top 9 to Finals on Friday)
7:20pm- Girls 4×400 M Relay (Top 9 to Finals on Friday)
FRIDAY:
6:55pm- Girls 1600 M Run Finals (Top 8 to Podium)
7:20pm- 400 M Dash Finals (Top 8 to Podium)
7:30pm- 300 M Dash Finals (Top 8 to Podium)
8:00pm- 3200 M Finals (Top 8 to Podium)
8:20pm- Girls 4×400 M Relay Finals (Top 8 to Podium)
The Falcons have multiple state qualifiers that include:
Marissa Bonham, Chloe Powell, Eden Barnes, Allison Woodruff- Girls 4x800m Relay
Kolten Evans, Kason Barnes, Luke Donaldson, Andrew Woodruff, Nick Tackett– Boys 4x800m Relay
Allison Woodruff– 1600m Run, 3200m Run
Marissa Bonham, Allison Woodruff, Eden Barnes, Kendel Rall-Girls 4x400m Relay
The OHSAA Track and Field State Tournaments are being held from May 30-June 1 and are being held at Welcome Stadium in Dayton this year. The State Tournament has been held at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at The Ohio State University since 2004 but the old track at that location is currently being replaced with a new track.
OHSAA announced in the fall of 2023 that the state tournaments would be temporarily moved to Welcome Stadium for the 2024 athletic year but would be hosted at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus for 2025 and 2026.
