Vehicle Catches on Fire While Owner was Pumping Gas

There was a scary moment at Fuel Mart in Kenton this morning.

A pickup truck caught on fire while the owner was pumping gas into the vehicle.

A witness said the flames quickly grew and the entire back end of the truck was engulfed while still under the canopy at the gas pumps.

The owner said he knew he had to move the vehicle and was able to jump in and drive the pickup away from the pumps likely averting a bigger catastrophe.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The older model pickup was totally destroyed.
