Recently, several Hardin County 4-H campers and their parents attended a cookie and punch reception at the Kenton Elks Lodge.

The youth shared favorite memories of 4-H camp and expressed appreciation for the financial support received from the Elks.

Earlier this summer, Kenton Elks Lodge 157 received a Gratitude Grant in the amount of $3,000 from the Elks National Foundation. The Grant was used to help defray the cost for youth attending 4-H camp.

Amanda Raines, Extension Educator and 4-H Youth Development coordinator, spoke about the 4-H camp experience, detailing many of the activities in which the campers participate and the impact the Grant money has in helping local youth attend camp. Several parents then shared the positive changes they have observed in their children since returning home from 4-H camp.

Jodine McKinley is the project manager for the Gratitude Grant and PER Julie Crowe serves as the Lodge Grant coordinator.
