KFD Responds To Dump Truck On Fire Monday Morning

The Kenton Fire Department responded to a dump truck on fire in the 7000 State Route 53 At around 7:30 this morning causing the route to be temporarily closed.

A truck which was hauling stone had a possible brake lock up causing the fire. The fire melted the bed of the truck and 2-3 tons of stone fell out of the truck. The entire rear end was destroyed and the truck was totaled. ODOT was called in for clean up.

Crews were on scene for approximately 3 hours.
