Marion Man Killed in Crash in Marion County’s Claridon Township

A crash in Marion County Wednesday morning claimed the life of a Marion man.

According to a release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Marti Joe Strzelecki, age 74, drove left of center while traveling east on State Route 309.

His sport utility vehicle struck a westbound semi being operated by Michael A. Boucher, of Painsville, Ohio.

Strzelecki was transported to Marion General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Boucher was not injured.

The Ohio State Highwa y Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, First Consolidated Fire Department, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Ed’s Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
