Ohio House Bill 188 was passed Wednesday, as announced by State Representative Jon Cross.

House Bill 188 prohibits courts and other agencies from discriminating against guardians on the basis of such disabilities as blindness, and would establish criteria by which the agency would determine the level of effect the guardian’s disability would have on the health, safety, or welfare of the child.

The bipartisan bill now moves to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
